Effective
This policy covers weneedaminute.com and polarpalooza.netlify.app, run by Need a Minute, a crew of friends in California who throw campouts and parties. The short version: the hello form is the only thing on either site that asks who you are, we read it ourselves, and nothing here follows you around the web.
What the hello form collects
Your name and email, which you're into (volunteering, DJing, workshops, vending, art), your message, and whether you want the email list. Only name and email are required. A hidden spam trap field is in the form too, and people never fill it in.
We use it to write back, to line up volunteers, performers, vendors and artists, and, if you leave the list box ticked, to send you event news. We don't sell or rent it or use it for ads.
The email list
If you leave "Put me on the email list" ticked, your name, email and interests go to Sender, the service we use to send our emails. Sender may record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them for good. Untick the box and your info stays out of Sender.
Who else touches it
- Cloudflare hosts weneedaminute.com, receives and stores form submissions, and sends each one to our inbox. To stop repeat spam, each submission is stored with a scrambled code made from your IP address that can't be turned back into the address. The address itself isn't stored.
- Netlify hosts the Polar Palooza site.
- Sender holds the email list, only for people who opt in.
- Google runs our inbox (Gmail). Cloudflare forwards mail sent to our address there, and form submissions are emailed there too, so anything you send us is kept there.
Each of these handles your info under its own privacy policy. We may also share info if the law requires it.
What happens when you just visit
Neither site sets cookies or runs analytics or ad trackers. Cloudflare and Netlify process each request, including your IP address and browser type, for security and to run the sites. Google Fonts serves our typefaces, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
On the Polar Palooza site, the sets you save stay in your own browser and are never sent to us. The site also stores a copy of itself on your device so it works offline at the campout.
Links to tickets (Ticket Tailor), RSVPs (Partiful), surveys and signups (Google Forms), the shop (Etsy), Instagram, SoundCloud and YouTube take you to those services, and their policies apply there. Ticket purchases happen entirely on Ticket Tailor.
Do Not Track
We don't track you across other sites, and no one else does through our pages, so a Do Not Track signal changes nothing here.
How long we keep it
Form messages stay as long as they're useful for planning our events. List members stay on the list until they unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
Seeing, fixing or deleting your info
Send a note through the hello form asking to see, correct or delete what you gave us, or to come off the list, and we'll take care of it and confirm.
Kids
These sites aren't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their info.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new effective date.
